According to 9-1-1 recordings there were two calls made to 9-1-1 about an incident involving a Ramseur Police officer this weekend. According to one recording the officer was assaulting a woman and putting kids into a police cruiser.
You can listen to the first recording by clicking here and you can listen to the second recording by clicking on this link. This will take you to a site to download the file to listen to it. Both are large files. You should keep in mind that the recordings are just witnesses talking to the 9-1-1 telecommunications. At some point there should be an investigation that may or may not clear the officer involved.
A fax was sent to the Ramseur Police Department and a message was left on a recording to find out if the officer involved was still working, or on administrative leave. At the time of this article a response has not been received.
According to Chief Assistant District Attorney, Andrew Gregson, the Randolph County District Attorney’s office has requested that the State Bureau of Investigation take the case to investigate.
S. B. I. Special Agent in Charge, Scott Williams, confirmed this morning that his office that is located in Greensboro had received a letter from the Randolph County District Attorney. He said by phone that the letter is just asking them to investigate a case from Randolph County. At the time of the phone conversation he could not advise if the S. B. I. would investigate it.
