“Be Loving You,” is the debut album from Jamaica’s rising gospel group: I-MANII (pronounced eye-mah-nee). The album contains 14 selections of energetic inspirational reggae music. The album proves to be a tasty collage of musicianship, production, memorable melodies and a strong message in the music. Richard Foulks is credited as the producer, engineer and main musician on keyboards, horns, guitar and digital percussion. Live drums by Desmond Jones, Bass by Dale Haslam and Errol Hird on horns. Alex Martin-Blanken does additional music on "Care About You." The album is presently available through online digital downloading outlets, such as iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby among many others.
The word I-MANII is of African origin, which means 'hope', 'faith'. The group began in 2005 out of an acappella group called A.C.T.S, and since then has maintained a focus to bring out the sentiment of 'hope' in their songs, particularly with great concern for 'at risk' youths in the society. Songwriter and lead singer Roan Brown founded the group and started with three members: Alrick Gray, Patrece Mowatt and Garfield Salmon.
I-MANII has been performing on concerts, church based events, weddings and school functions around Jamaica especially in Kingston & St. Catherine. Memorable events for the group so far were those coordinated by saxophone great Dean Fraser. These included performances alongside artistes such as Bengy Myaz, John Holt, A.J. Brown, Tarrus Riley, and Fab Five, to name a few. The group has also performed on annual events such as ‘Genesis’ (Jamaica Youth for Christ) and 'Rejoice' (The Emanuel Apostolic Church). In May 2013, I-MANII was a guest artiste on the Jamaica Biscuit Company’s Labour Day concert on the waterfront in Downtown Kingston featuring several top local acts.
I-MANII is scheduled to perform various dates in the US during 2014. Keep checking their website and stay up to date for performances and other updates. Visit their website for management and booking information.
