Sure, I could believe in Political Correctness. I could also believe that life is long enough to permit being thin-skinned and bitter about everything I don’t happen to agree with. Yes, some would sneer at some of my views and call me a liberal. But I was brought up to believe that, as a Christian, you turn the other cheek when someone tries to blast you for your faith just because they don’t like it. I was conditioned to believe that the best advertisement for my faith was to behave in a civil and kind manner to all.
So, if you must know, I consider myself a raging moderate. I’ll say “Merry Christmas!” alright, but I’ll also say “Happy Holidays!” just to change things up a little. After all, I’m all about variety, because I’m a typical American---I have so many different nationalities running in me, my blood should resemble patchwork. And if, as a typical American, I can’t be big enough to deal with a little diversity, then I may as well hang it all up right now.
One greeting that should be used more often that everybody could relate to is: Stay safe and healthy, people!
You got a problem with that?
