Say it isn’t so. Recording artist and producer Cee Lo Green is walking about from the hit singing competition, “The Voice”. According to the Hollywood Reporter on Feb. 19, the former Goodie Mob member revealed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that he is not returning to the show as a judge.

Cee Lo already rotates his judging responsibilities with User, but the “Crazy” singer is walking away completely to work on other projects.

“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year,” Green revealed in the interview. “But year, I’m going to miss The Voice, too.”

Green hinted that there is always a chance for a return and if the show continues to be a success, one shouldn’t rule out Cee Lo returning to the spinning chairs once again. After all, he does love music.

Cee Lo taped the interview for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” alongside music legend Lionel Richie. The two will be touring together in a tour highlighting the greatest hits of Richie.

Cee Lo Green concluded the interview by simply saying that he doesn’t want to wear out his welcome and his free time will be spent finishing and promoting a new album.

“I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”
