Whether it’s at a current job or during an interview, Millennials should take pride in their generation. Their reputation has been tainted by previous generation even before the Millennials entered the workforce.
There are videos, presentations, and even books about how Generation Y is going to be impossible to work with, how they have unrealistic salary expectations, and how they don’t even have the attention span needed to finish a task. Millennials are being called the “Me Me Me” generation, the “It’s All About Me” generation, and “Generation Me.”
Interestingly enough, Millennials are the complete opposite of being a selfish generation. One of their greatest beliefs is that the success of a business should be greatly measured by its social responsibility. They thrive on giving back to their communities.
Finding their place in today’s workplaces has not been an easy task for Generation Y but yet, their attitudes remain positive. Millennials are resilient and should take pride in that.
To Millennials, there is no such thing as a task too cumbersome, a problem too difficult, or a need too big that they would not take on. If their generation is challenged, a Millennial should remain proud and defend their great qualities.
