14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 22:14-16)
Meals are said to be the best place for a family to share intimate details of their lives. Many recommend that families eat meals together on a regular basis. Parents can use the time to share important information and especially truths from God. Meals are a simple way to share time and stay connected. These times strengthen relationships.
Jesus had been waiting for this special time and anticipated eating the Passover with the disciples. He was clear on His assignment and was about to fulfill it. The Passover meal would a teaching moment for His followers. Jesus took time and made sure the disciples would get the connection of His suffering on the cross. He shared information for their preparation of upcoming events.
Challenge: Believers, share meals with your family especially the family of God. The Holy Spirit is the each believer and is one of the common connections. Praise Jesus!
