A lot happens in this two-hour finale wrap up. The week of the wedding proves to be the most hectic for the bride-to-be to put the finishing touches on the upcoming nuptials. NeNe shows that she can juggle it all, including taking time to meet up with good friend Vivica A. Fox.
Vivica asks the main question of the series. “Why did you decide to give him another chance?” NeNe quickly responds, "Gregg has really been the only man I’ve ever loved. I feel very attracted to him. I feel like Gregg balances me really well.” She admits he still gives her butterflies.
Another item to check off her laundry list of activities was to reunite Gregg with all of his children over dinner at On the Border. Just as she patches up his family hers seems to have problems when her father sends her an email saying he can’t attend the wedding. “What father does this just a few days before the wedding?” She is visibly upset and he never even congratulated her.
Gregg has his bachelor party at The Shark Bar and takes the show on the road with some butt jiggling, gyrating strippers and groomsmen eager to make it rain all night. Maybe all the partying and drinking made Gregg forget to sign the prenup? Doubtful and NeNe mean mugs Gregg to show her frustration with him.
Adding to NeNe’s stress is Marlo’s over-the-top behavior. Marlo gets the cold shoulder when NeNe doesn’t return phone calls and text messages, which leaves her wondering if NeNe is still upset with her for not wearing the blue dress in Cancun. It seems obvious NeNe is done when Marlo, the creative director, as she calls herself. It is evident when Marlo and Lexis drive across town to pick up NeNe’s wedding dress only to find out NeNe already picked up the dress earlier that day. Shows how much she trusts her creative director.
Hours before the wedding she has to worry about someone leaking pictures of the wedding invitation online, Omarosa tweeting pictures that only InTouch and Life &Style magazine have exclusive rights to and the paparazzi lurking in the lobby.
To ease some of the tension Gregg finally presents NeNe with a signed prenup and tells her how much he loves her. The emotional part of the show begins when NeNe has Tony, the wedding coordinator, present Gregg with an expensive watch as a wedding gift. He openly sobs and calls NeNe to express his appreciation.
The fanfare of celebrities arrive: The women from all of the Housewives franchise, Patti Stanger, Jill Zarin, Jay Manuel – the famous makeup artist, and former castmate Lisa Wu sporting a fabulous short haircut.
The wedding is phenomenal. NeNe walks down the aisle with both of her sons. Gregg is humorous and poetic expressing his love for NeNe during the exchange of their vows. The cameras cut to the crowd wiping away tears and giving their opinion on how lovely they look. Everyone partied until the wee hours of the morning at the reception. NeNe and Gregg take their tired selves up to their room to start working on Marriage 2.0.
