Psalm 103:1-5 (NLT)
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
Let all that I am praise the Lord! Well, there is a whole lot of me to bring into alignment with this proclamation. First, there is my flesh that is bent on having its own way. There is my heart that trembles at the first sign of opposite. Mind, soul and body working to remain in agreement but struggling to remain faithful under a steady flow of grace in the Blood of Jesus Christ. The world in which we live is full of hardship and problems. As if there were not enough of them, the mass media produces more with over sensationalized news coverage and televised drama streaming into our homes and inevitably our heart. How can I praise the Lord in the midst of such adversity? How does one overcome when I can’t even seem to breathe under the pressure? Maybe, just maybe if we understood the purpose of our praise – it would become a mainstay in our life. See praise can change everything beginning with one’s perspective.
Praise means to express approval. Children thrive under it. Marriages bond over it. People are united by praise because it is a blessing that approves, affirms and accepts. Let all that I am “express approval” for the Lord with my whole heart will literally, naturally, and spiritually change your situation because the moment you begin to praise the Lord it is to accept His Will for your life no matter what that is. Praise in the good times encourages. Praise in hard times changes lives. The Lord has made us many promises including but not limited to His Goodness, Mercy, Forgiveness, Healing, Redemption and of course LOVE! He promises to love us and care for us. Praise is our way of indicating that we accept His Gracious Offer. Are you accepting the Blessings and Promises of God for your life today? Or are you rejecting them by cursing your life with negative thoughts and doubt? God has many great things in store for those who say, “I approve” living a life of praise.
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 (NLT)
For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
God’s Answer to your requests are a resounding yes according to His Will. He decided ahead of time to provide for your every need and pour out blessing into your life. Have you approved? Jesus does not waver – His Yes is yes and His No is no according to His Word, Will and Way. If you choose to step in to the Presence of God accessed by praise, worship and service to the Lord, you will find provision, blessing and promises. It is inevitable. I recently won a sweepstakes. The notification email was vague and I did not remember entering anything so I almost deleted it. I read it again and thought what if I really did win. I responded hesitantly. Well, sure enough I did win! However, my doubt would have cost me my prize had I not accepted the reward. Those who did not respond were passed over and their prize given to the next lucky winner who did respond. Imagine how disappointing it will be to enter Heaven only to realize all the blessings we missed on earth because of doubt and unbelief. If you can find it in the Word of God, if He has spoken it to you in prayer, it is yours simply by accepting what the Lord has to offer by faith. The Lord said, “Yes!” He means it. Jesus keeps His Promises. All you have to do is say, “Yes back!” Have you accepted the reward of salvation? You do it by praising Him for all He has done!
Matthew 16:16-19 (NLT)
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God! It is one thing to say these words but quite another to believe them with our whole heart. Such a declaration in agreement with one’s body, mind and spirit has the power to change your life as you give up your old life to become a new creation. Like Peter, those who know Jesus as the Son of the LIVING God will have a complete change of heart. Now we can approve the things of Heaven (God’s Own Will) in our life and have it before we enter Eternity. No power of hell can conquer you from such a position. You have the authority to forbid and permit things to happen. Such people will experience miracles and wonders in their life never dreamed of and humanly impossible. Do you approve God’s Will or deny Him with your attitude and action? Those who choose to live a life of praise continually accept and approve God’s Will! “May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
Psalm 34:1-3 (Message)
I bless GOD every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise. I live and breathe GOD; if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy: Join me in spreading the news; together let’s get the word out.
Do you bless God every chance you get? Here’s a hint: if you are a constantly whining, complaining with a bad attitude then the answer is no. Every time your lungs expand do they exhale praise? Seriously, who can do that? You can. I can. To live and breathe God. This is how we live a life of praise. If you know God, then you will experience His Goodness. If you rely on God, you will experience His Provision and Blessing. If you trust the Lord and stick to His Plan, only goodness and mercy will find you all the days of your life. If you praise the Lord, all these things will be yours because you have given the Lord your approval to deposit them into your life. You have a choice between blessing and cursing just as you do life or death! Praise voices our approval of all that God has to offer and makes way for them to come into our life.
Psalm 40:1-5 (Message)
I waited and waited and waited for GOD. At last he looked; finally he listened. He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip. He taught me how to sing the latest God-song, a praise-song to our God. More and more people are seeing this: they enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to GOD. Blessed are you who give yourselves over to GOD, turn your backs on the world’s “sure thing,” ignore what the world worships; The world’s a huge stockpile of GOD-wonders and God-thoughts. Nothing and no one comes close to you! I start talking about you, telling what I know, and quickly run out of words. Neither numbers nor words account for you.
Before time, God was there. Before you breathed your first breath, your entire life was documented by God. Every promise a yes and amen. Every purpose firmly imprinted in your DNA. It is all a done deal except one very important detail. The freedom to choose between life or death belongs to you. Blessing and cursing are a moment by moment decision. What do you choose? Finding God and falling in love with Jesus Christ does not change every detail of our life but guarantees a good outcome. “He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from the mud. He stood me up on a solid rock.” The Lord gives us a new perspective on life from the vantage point of grace, mercy and love perched high on faith and confident hope. Those who have faith in God and rely on hope will see over the problems in life as opportunities for blessing. They will proclaim victory before the win! They will sing His Praises in the midst of the storm. They approve God’s Will and Way for their life which promises every detail will be for our good! Do you approve of God’s Will for your life today? Have you told Him? Do you live like it? The details in our life change from moment to moment. Everything can be going great and then all hell break loose in our life. Children of God have a new perspective that allows us to reach into Heaven and pull down supernatural outcomes with our praise that approves God’s Perfect Plan of our life.
Psalm 43:3-4 (Message)
Give me your lantern and compass, give me a map, so I can find my way to the sacred mountain, to the place of your presence, to enter the place of worship, meet my exuberant God, sing my thanks with a harp, magnificent God, my God.
What would happen if Children of God learned to exhale praise with each breath? What if rather than complaining all the time and cursing our blessings, we embraced them and accepted them by affirming God with every breath of our body and word of our mouth. Can you imagine the potential? If you struggle with praise, God will show you the way. He will give you a “lantern (the Light of His Word), a compass (Jesus is the Only Way so follow) and a map (that goes right through the Blood of Jesus boldly into the Presence of God called righteousness). You can change your life by changing your confession. What do you want? Find it in His Word. Ask for His Will. Do not be sidetracked or detoured by living in the drama of this world but experience peace that passes all understanding living in God’s Perspective as His Promises make way into your life. All you must do is approve them by living a life of praise! ”I’m ready, God, so ready, ready from head to toe, ready to sing, ready to raise a tune: “Wake up, soul!
Wake up, harp! wake up, lute! Wake up, you sleepyhead sun!” (Psalm 57:7-8)
Psalm 19:14 (NLT)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
