I Am Second Ministries speaks at biker church

The pictures at the top are from left to right - Zig Zag, ‘before Christ’ – Chaplain Zig Zag’s wife, Susan, and a current picture of Chaplain Zig Zag. His legal name is Donald Owens.

Chaplain Zig Zag and his voluptuous wife, Susan are pastors of a biker church at 11131 Ferguson Rd, Dallas, 75228. The name on the church facility is Above and Beyond and they share their facility with Zig Zag’s congregation and have their services at different times. Also, since Zig Zag and Susan operate 13 recovery homes, they use the building during the week to have Christian 12 step meetings, women’s empowering meetings, etc.

This past Sunday, they celebrated a biker Sunday and invited Duche Bradley of “I AM Second” ministries, to speak. (see video). The sanctuary was packed full. They brought in additional folding chairs to sit next to the benches, then men stood around the walls. It was a crowd, indeed.

Their 6 piece band (2 guitars, piano, drums, mouth harp and bass) played for the congregational singing as an ensemble of singers’ lead praise and worship.

After church, homemade Mexican food was served while everyone enjoyed the music of Chaplain Zig Zag and the band.

Everyone was welcome since these people had learned to find worth from any denomination (or no denomination). Every person, regardless of color, lifestyle or corner of the world was there and welcomed with loving arms:

Red and yellow, black and white

All are precious in his sight

Remember that little song they taught us in Sunday School? Well . . . bikers have been sneered at, spat upon, misjudged, lied about and sold to movie directors and TV series as murderous outlaw biker gangs. For every story of a biker that is actually like the ones described above, I can produce a Senator, Doctor or Church Pastor caught in the same illegal activities as any biker. The media just doesn’t sensationalize the elite as often, when they get caught.

That being the case, we had a congregation of:

Drug users, drug dealers, prostitutes, people involved with abortion,

child abuse, anger, swindlers, anyone that wants to be free

coming from every crack and crevice of society.

No one attending this service gasped, moved away or walked around ANYBODY that looks different than the average ‘SUNDAY-GO-TO-MEETING’ church attendee.

My husband, who is an ex-outlaw biker, has a patch on his vest (colors) that says “These ARE my church clothes” . . . and it means just that. No pious phonies are invited nor tolerated.
