The award-winning documentary "I Am Bruce Lee" tells the amazing story of martial arts movie star Bruce Lee, who is considered one of the most iconic human beings ever to enter the pop culture consciousness.
Voted as one of the most important people of the 20th century in Time Magazine's Time 100, as well as one of the Greatest Pop Culture Icons by People Magazine, Bruce Lee's legacy is explored in depth by director Pete McCormack, whose films include the Muhammad Ali documentary "Facing Ali "and "Uganda Rising," which looks at the African political climate from Uganda to Rawanda and the Congo and Sudan.
"I Am Bruce Lee" was released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the U.S. on Jan. 15. Its also available for digital download on Apple iTunes.
The documentary features interviews with numerous marital artists, historians, and celebrities including Lee's ex-wife Linda Lee Caldwell, Shannon Lee, Gina Carano, Kobe Bryant, Dan Inosanto, Daniele Boleli and Richard Bustillo, and author Paul Bowman.
According to the filmmaker's Lee's often revolutionary and sometimes controversial thinking on a multitude of planes has become a source of inspiration and debate for a generation of philosophers, actors, filmmakers and athletes.
The film is described as a compelling and visually stunning uncovering of Lee's life, his enormous impact, and his ever-expanding legacy in the world of martial arts, entertainment, and beyond-despite his tragic and sudden death at the age of 32.
