Do you believe in ghosts or magical powers? If you do, then you are not alone. There is a large niche out there for both of these, and there are sellers who are making a lot of money on eBay selling products to these niches. I have a ghost story that once happened to me, and I have shared it once on my blog, but if you have never heard it, here you go:
Back in 2005, my family and I moved into a new house. This house was average size and it was perfect for us. But there was one thing wrong with it. We thought it was haunted. We heard noises at night, and some times we felt a presence in the room. Inspired by the movie Beetlejuice, I decided to get a Polaroid Camera to instantly catch the ghost on film. And to also prove that I didn’t photoshop the picture. I was able to find one at Goodwill for $1. One day I woke up at 3 a.m. extremely thirsty. This never has happened before, but I felt compelled to get out of bed. So I stand up, only in my boxers and slippers, and make my way down stairs. As soon as I hit the kitchen I hear “tink, tink”. We had ceramic floors in the kitchen, and it sounded like something was hitting the floor. I take a couple more steps, and I hear “tink, tink”. My heart starts to beat fast as I reach for the light switch. When I turn on the light I notice that there are coins on the floor. Something is throwing coins at me at 3 a.m. in the morning! I walk fast towards the Polaroid Camera thinking this is the perfect opportunity to catch my ghost. I took a few more steps, and heard “tink, tink, tink” again! Then I realized something. I realized that it was not a ghost after all, but I fell asleep on some change and it was stuck to my back. So, every time I was taking a step, my back would jiggle a little, and the coins would fall off and onto the floor. Looking back, its pretty funny. I quickly realized that there was no ghost in my house, but it was my imagination.
So I didn’t have a ghost, but that doesn’t stop me from selling haunted type items. Some people take it to the extreme on eBay, but there are buyers who are looking for these types of items.
A haunted doll, a lucky button, and a magical pen all have sold for some good money. Here is their secret – they tell a story! The haunted doll stated that they are paranormal investigators and they found this doll at a house where a witch used to live. They button told a story how the button is lucky and it guaranteed to give you protection. Lastly is the pen, this listing had a huge story on how it will help you pass tests at school, and how you can write love letters to influence a man or women (read the rest HERE). Are these really magical or haunted? To the people who buy them they are.
Some other items to think about are items that have to do with the law of attraction. If you have ever read the book “The Secret”, then you would have heard about gratitude rocks. Basically its a rock that you put in your pocket, and whenever you feel it you should think about something you are grateful for. There are a dozen sellers who sell rocks on eBay and call them gratitude rocks. This is a HUGE niche to sell to, so get creative and see what you can come up with.
Just a quick note, I personally do not sell the type of items that were featured above. When it comes to spells and haunted dolls, I feel like someone may be ripping the buyer off, but not all haunted or magical items are bad. The gratitude rocks are a good idea, as well as the Polaroid camera. Also, there is a big niche for paranormal activity tools e.g. voice recorders.
