There's been a lot of Flying Men variants over the years, some better and some worse. Hypnotic Siren from Wizards of the Coast's expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Journey Into Nyx" is one of the better ones.
Hypnotic Siren - U
Enchantment Creature - Siren (Rare)
Bestow 5UU (If you cast this card for its bestow cost, it's an Aura spell with enchant creature. It becomes a creature again if it's not attached to a creature.)
You control enchanted creature.
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has flying.
Creatures like Judge's Familiar and Jace's Phantasm are clearly better upfront, while creatures such as Cloudfin Raptor needs a little help in order to succeed. Hypnotic Siren does its own thing early on, getting in for a few damage especially when enchanted by Ordeal of Thassa or Ordeal of Purphoros or perhaps equipped by Godsend.
It's in the late game that Hypnotic Siren really becomes interesting though, where it transforms into a souped up Control Magic. Who cares if you have to spend seven mana? That's only two more mana than Mind Control, the fixed Control Magic. And with that extra two mana your target gains +1/+1 and evasion with flying. Talk about game changer. Best part is when your opponent finally manages to Murder their own creature with a Hero's Downfall you'll end up with a 1/1 flying critter to still attack or chump block with.
How will you use Hypnotic Siren?
