Passive aggressive behavior affects an individual in many ways that the person doesn't really understand. Ways which affects the person’s motivation. Even as a child a child will go out of his way to sabotage his parents. As an adult, he may sabotage his career etc. He or she will try to do things that will end up hurting him or herself. This may develop when the child is punished for showing initiative or asserting their individuality. Usually the individual has resistance in many areas. The resistance is not expressed directly and these individuals passively express covert aggression. There is usually a resistance to the demands for average behavior in all areas of their lives. Passive aggressive behavior can affect one’s life in ways like procrastination, avoiding things, gets bored quickly and has passive aggressive projections. People who are affected by passive aggressive behavior want to be successful, but will tend to sabotage themselves, ensuing they won’t be successful. The person could be hypoglycemic or depressed as well. This may very well be the case in most instances. The hypnotherapist has to expose the behavior to the client so the hypnotherapist has to look at the common dominators. The hypnotherapist should help the client focus on future goals, which would enhance the client’s success in relationships.
