Hypertension also known as high blood pressure is the silent killer. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can damage your kidneys and cause a stroke. Also, it can put you at risk of having a heart attack.
Hypertension can become serious and life threatening if left untreated. Here are ways to lower blood pressure levels: discuss treatment options with your doctor, avoid shaking salt on food, follow your doctor's orders, eat low sodium meals and snacks, take medication as prescribed, exercise regularly, use herbs to season food, avoid eating high sodium processed foods, avoid drinking high sodium beverages, and reduce stress in your life.
Being diagnosed with hypertension doesn't mean it is the end of the world, instead it means you need to change you eating habits, exercise and follow your doctor's orders.
Take care of your body: Check your blood pressure regularly, schedule your annual physical exam, exercise daily, eat low sodium foods, drink plenty of water, and reduce stress in your life.
