Set in June 1939, “Hyde Park on Hudson” tells of the love affair between Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Murray) and his distant cousin, Margaret “Daisy” Suckley (Laura Linney). During this time, FDR prepares to host the King and Queen of England (Samuel West and Olivia Coleman) for a weekend at the Roosevelt house at Hyde Park on Hudson, located in upstate New York. This would mark the first time a reigning British monarch visited America. As Britain readies for war with Germany, the royals begin to desperately seek support from the 32nd President of the United States.
Ending Thursday, Jan. 17, is “Hitchcock.” It plays at 6:30 p.m. through that day.
The Pageant Theatre is located at 351 East 6th Street in Chico.
