Heal a Woman Heal a Nation is a nonprofit organization that was started in 2003 by Sister Mothyna James-Brightful, Monokia Tyson Nance and Maria James. These three women wanted to minister to the needs of woman at Morgan State University. Ten years later this organization has touched the lives of many women around the world in encouraging, healing and uplifting ways. Earlier this year HWHN held their annual women's conference. The conference kicked off with a VIP awards dinner and social mixer. This was a time for women to network, celebrate the 2013 winners and hear about what HWHN has done in the last year. Some of the winners included Fox 45 personality Brandi Proctor , Entrepreneur Mellanie Lee , and Author Larissa C. Walters.
The conference continued the next day with teachings by dynamic women. These women were business owners, wives, mothers, daughters and more who wanted to impart their wisdom to other women. You can read more about each women and go to their websites to purchase resources about their product by clicking on their name.

The next speaker was Coach Felecia . She redefined the word healing. She said, "The world is changed by ordinary people who make an extraordinary decision." That decision is healing which comes by helping others when you are hurting. HEALING was defined as
H-help while you are hurting
E-enjoy life's processing
A-accept and anticipate change
L-let go (truth does not change for convenience)
I-itemize and and individualize your issues and images
N-navigate for needs
G-grow with gratitude
Mia Redricks wanted to remind all women especially mothers about weekly dates with themselves. She said self maintenance activities like doing your hair, going to the grocery store and more are not considered dates. She said you should spend at least 1 hour a week doing something for yourself alone. It should be something you like to do and you should do it weekly usually at the same time. She also reminded mothers to blend family activities into things they like to do also.
Nicole Roberts was the last speaker of the conference. Nicole wanted to teach attendees about defining their way. She wanted women to take time to understand that bold action is needed to change. She described a process that incorporated the following steps: discover, edification, faith ,investment and nurture. She said if you have a gift you should be paid for it.
The conference also featured vendors who were business owners with products for women. Please see the information below about vendors at the conference. Thank you HWHN for caring about the needs of women with your organization. You are changing the world and women are thankful. To learn more about HWHN please click here.
