Getthebuzz716: How did you get started with Hustle for Health Organization?

Jazzy T: Hustle for Health started as a partnership with DJ Maestro "The Hustle Man" who personally lost 50lbs by performing his line dance hustles all across America. JR Galactic LLC signed on as artist management for DJ Maestro in 2010 and started booking him at high school and college events. We realized that with just a little aerobic alteration to the dance moves, DJ Maestro's Hustles provide the foundation for a great workout!

Hustle for Health is inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign to end childhood obesity. The best way to motivate children (and adults) to exercise is to make it fun. The music is already upbeat and instructional which makes each dance easy to do. Line dancing is a social activity that brings people together. This is what made Hustle for Health an attractive addition to Girl scouts of Western New York's Healthy Living platform.

To add to the emotional wellness and nutrition aspect of our approach, we partnered with Taina Jorda-Cid, a certified holistic health coach & drugless practitioner. She provides one-on-one coaching as well as guided meditations, healthy meal plans and juicing recipes.

Getthebuzz716 :What were some of the goals of Hustle for health and how has it made an impact on you?

Jazzy T: Our goal is to enhance the physical, emotional and social wellness of our participants. As a moderately intense workout, Hustle For Health dance fitness program is a perfect program for those needing to get more active, without the intimidation of going to the gym or high intensity dance routines. People of all fitness levels and dancing abilities aged 8 - 60 enjoy the benefits of this program.

Getthebuzz716: How important is getting the message of healthy living to you and how has that shaped who you are today?

Jazzy T: Our motto is "Join the MOVEment" because we know that physical activity & healthy eating are the key elements to fight obesity. On a personal note: I was one of those people who never found time to go to the gym, but loved to join in on line dances like "The Wobble" and the "Turbo Hustle" at parties and community events. I have been following the Hustle For Health program for 2 months now and have already lost 15lbs and have more energy and clarity. I have replaced soda pop with fresh fruit smoothies, I drink plenty of water and do my Hustle For Health workout twice a week. In September, I will compete in Buffalo's version of Dancing with the Stars, so I have to be in top physical shape!

Getthebuzz716:Any project coming and where can people find your work,business and/or organization?

Jazzy T: Canisus College Black History Event Feb. 27th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Hustle for Health will teach a 45min breakout session free of charge.Party with a Purpose March 15th at The Vue, Toronto, Canada. Hustle for Health presents DJ Maestro Live! He will debut his new line dance hustle songs "Canadian Slide" f/ Choc Ty "Survivor Slide" f/ Bigg Mucci & Xonie the Line dance Princess and the Birthday Slide Reggae remix f/ dancehall artist Philip T2k

Family Promise fundraiser. "Spring into Action" with a hustle-a-thon presented by Hustle for Health featuring health conscious vendors. Location and times TBA on Pinktober Events TBA with a attempt at World's largest line dance attempt. Niagara Falls October 2014
