The Washington Huskies opened a two-game Texas trip with a 66-55 victory over Houston on Wednesday night at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Freshman Kelsey Plum scored a team-high 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Talia Walton recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Huskies (2-2) picked up their first road win of the season despite shooting 37.1 percent from the field and committing 22 turnovers. But with Houston (3-5) also struggling from the field (33.9%), the Dawgs made up for their offensive struggles on the glass, outrebounding the Cougars 50-39.

Trailing 28-20 with 7:34 remaining in the first half, the Dawgs went on an 11-0 run to help grab a 33-31 halftime lead.

After a back and forth start in the second half, the Huskies slowly pulled away, building a double-digit lead and cruising to a solid road win. The Dawgs play at No. 20 Texas A&M on Saturday.
