The Huskies picked up a big point on the road in their quest to finish in the upper portion of the Pac-12, the only realistic way the Dawgs will qualify for the NCAA tournament according to coach Lesle Gallimore.
Washington was outshot 26-10, including 12-2 in shots on goal, as Huskies keeper Megan Kufeld made a staggering 12 saves in keeping the clean sheet. Arizona State also held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks, but couldn’t break through.
The Dawgs had several great chances in overtime, just missing out on a couple of crosses before ultimately settling for the point.
Lindsay Elston led the Huskies with three shots, while Havana McElvaine and Annie Sittauer both recorded two shots. Sittauer had one of the two Huskies shots on goal, as the Dawgs moved to 7-6-3 and 3-1-3 in Pac-12 play. Washington plays at Arizona on Sunday.
