The first monthly meeting of the Huntsville Tea Party for 2013 hosted a standing room only crowd. A larger venue with more parking is sought to accommodate an overflow of interested participants.
Meeting Discussions
A policy statement determined that there was agreement to protect the constitutional rights of the people in the State of Alabama with membership focused on:
- Limited Government
- Fiscal Responsibility and
- Free Markets
Areas of immediate interest included:
Minute Men Volunteers
The agenda called for identifying individuals who would volunteer to attend city and county council meetings on a rotating basis with the goal of letting elected officials know that voters are paying attention to public events.
Volunteers would:
- Sign up to attend meetings
- Identify issues that need immediate attention
- Report on the council meetings through the website and monthly meetings
Community Outreach
Huntsville's Tea Party is looking for:
- Small events or festivals where the Tea Party can place a table or booth to increase community awareness and participation
- Public Address system to support future meetings and events
Madison County Republican Mens Club
Coffee from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Breakfast and Speeches 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Speakers: Senator Paul Sanford and the four other Madison County State Senators
Madison City Council Town Hall Meeting
Notice of Madison City Council Town Hall meeting on May 21, 2013 at 6:30 PM regarding a possible sales tax increase will be held at the Council Chambers (Upper Level) in the Madison Municipal Building at 100 Hughes Road in Madison, AL
