Most people that have an old abandoned hospital in their neighborhood almost always will tell you a ghost story or two about it. Like all of the other hospitals, this one is believed to be haunted by former patients.
History
Molly Stark Hospital opened as tubercular hospital and took its first patients in 1929. Later it became a state hospital for the mentally ill. The hospital expanded in 1952 and eventually closed in 1995. In 2009 the Stark County Park District purchased the hospital and its grounds. When completed, the 35 acre park will feature picnic areas, hiking trails, and many other ammenities.
Haunted History
Deceased patients are believed to roam the former tubercular hospital and insane asylum that is on the park's grounds. People that walk the trails sometimes think that they get a glimpse of them. There are even hidden tunnels beneath the property. Picnic at this park and you may have to share what's in your basket with a ghost.
Location
Molly Stark Park is located at 7900 Columbus Road, in Nimishillen Township, Ohio.
