At the end of 2009, you read the St Paul Live Music Examiner's prediction that the band hunter (HERO) would be a band to watch in 2010. That band continues to work hard to prove this examiner right.
Throughout the first half of this year, hunter (HERO) has been playing out around the Twin Cities at bars such as the 400 Bar, Half Time Rec, and Lee's Liquor Lounge.
On Wednesday, June 24, the band's efforts culminate into what they hope may be the biggest break through in getting their name out beyond the local Twin Cities clubs.
hunter (HERO) has been picked as one of four bands to compete in the final rounds of the Cities 97 Basilica Block Party Battle of the Bands. The finals will be held Wednesday, June 24, beginning at 8:30 pm at The Cabooze in Minneapolis. Two bands will be chosen to open for one of the national acts during the Basilica Block Party in July.
One of hunter (HERO)'s early shows back in October of 2009 wowed audiences at the St Paul Eagles Club. While the band hadn't been together for very long, the group seemed to compliment one another and played as if they were age old friends.
Aaron, the drummer of the band, said in an e-mail that they have been "tightening up" their sound even more. Once the group is done with the whirlwind that is the Battle of the Bands, hunter (HERO) hopes to work toward an album and a small tour.
This highly recommended show comes with orders to enjoy the music, but be sure to vote for hunter (HERO) this Wednesday, June 24th at The Cabooze, 917 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, 8:30 pm doors, 21+, $5.
