Hunt, Fish and Swap in Springfield, Mo.

The Hunt, Fish and Swap event will be held February 23 and 24, 2013 at the Springfield Expo Center in downtown Springfield, Mo. This event features over 100 vendors, an airgun range, a live trout pond , a miniature horse and more entertainment for the kids. The booths will be filled with hunting, fishing and other outdoor equipment from throughout the Midwest. Admission is five dollars at the door for ages 13 and up. Advance tickets are three dollars and children under age 12 are free. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at The Springfield Expo Center.

The weekend will offers many learning opportunities. Speakers for Saturday include:
10 am - Tim Baker and dogs, 11 am - Rick Flint - crappie expert, Noon – Brian Utecht – Whitetail Properties – Whitetail Hunting, 1 pm – Jack Essary – Trapping & Furs, 2 pm - Matt Canovi – gun safety & maintenance, 3 pm - Steve Brown - Catfish Safari. Sunday speakers will include: 11 am - Rick Flint, crappie expert, Noon - Catfish Safari, 1 pm – Josh DeLozier - Reloading, 2 pm – Kirk Bouse – Cross Trail Outfitters – Turkey Hunting. There is something for every age. The money raised goes to help The Arc of the Ozarks, an organization that supports people with disabilities around the Springfield area.

This is the fifth year for this event that was started by one man's idea to help people with disabilities while sharing something he loved to do. The event has grown, last year they raised $43,000. This money helped purchase a wheel chair accessible van for The Arc of the Ozarks.
