Hungry Happenings chocolate snack cake bats for Halloween (Video)

The Hungry Happenings website has shared an adorable Halloween edible craft. It is an adorable idea for school parties, Halloween Parties and even Zoo themed Birthday party! The Hungry Happenings website is an extremely creative place to find fun activities for whimsical food ideas!

To make your bats, you will need to collect all of the spooky ingredients needed to whip up the scary treat! You will need:

•A chocolate snack cake to assemble the body of the bat
•Wax paper or as suggested by Hungry Happenings, parchment paper to create your work space.
•You will need a black food coloring. Hungry Happenings suggest a food coloring marker. It may be easier for children to use a food coloring or bottled icing with a small tip for ease of dispersing the icing or food coloring.
•Chocolate such as the suggested "melted dark confectionery coating/candy melts
•Squeezeit Mold painter, disposable pastry bag or zip top bag

How to assemble the bat:

Prepare your work area to place the bat on your wax or parchment paper.

Beth of the Hungry Happening Blog shares detailed information on how to create her bat masterpiece on the Hungry Happenings website! Beth suggest:
•draw the bat's wings and fill them in with your icing or melted chocolate.
•Use your icing or food coloring to 'glue" the candy eyes to the bat face and to make the mouth and fangs.
•place your snack cake in the middle of the wings to create the illusion of a bat with his wings spread open!
•You now have created an adorable edible bat. This is a great project for presentation!
