President Snow's white rose
Talk about a creepy but uber-cool marketing promotion! Entertainment Weekly (and, we're guessing, probably a few other entertainment outlets) received a very unsettling Valentine's Day message from President Snow -- the character portrayed by Donald Sutherland in The Hunger Games. The message came in the form of a single white rose -- a huge piece of symbolism for fans who've read Catching Fire and Mockingjay -- and a note, which reads:
From all of us here in the Capitol, I would like to wish you a happy Valentine’s Day and a happy Hunger Games.
I’ll see you on March 23rd.

Twilight Saga cast members banned from The Hunger Games?
There's been no official word on whether this is true or not -- but it is, if you believe actor Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga movies. He apparently recently told The Insider that he wanted to audition for The Hunger Games movie but was told by "the powers that be" that there would be no crossover between the two series. I'm not entirely sure how much I believe this news, but if true, I find it rather disappointing -- considering how many talented young actors have smaller roles in the Twilight films, and could easily fill parts in The Hunger Games sequels.
Imagery in the "Safe & Sound" music video
Monday night, fans of The Hunger Games were delighted to see the debut of the music video for "Safe and Sound," the first single from the movie soundtrack by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars. The video did not include any footage from the movie, but was packed with imagery pulled directly from the story. NextMovie has a great analysis and breakdown of those images.
