Fans of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” movie have reason to celebrate this week, as MTV News announced this Monday, Jan. 28, that “Catching Fire” just won the 2013 MTV Movie Brawl, making it the most anticipated film of the year. New cast member Sam Claflin (who plays tribute Finnick Odair in the film adaptation) also recently talked with MTV about the big win, thanking fans for their support and over 10 million votes.
Although “The Hunger Games” film lost last year to Robert Pattinson’s “Cosmopolis,” fans of Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Gale Hawthorne, and Finnick Odair have turned out triumphant as the winner this 2013. MTV News at last revealed this afternoon that “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” movie just won the hotly anticipated MTV Movie Brawl, winning its major title as 2013’s most anticipated film.
Even with this big victory over big contenders like “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” movie — also bound to be a huge hit in theaters later this year — the YA film has great reason to celebrate after its tough time in the casting arena.
Sam Claflin is just one cast star who wanted to thanks fans for “Catching Fire’s” recent win in the big film brawl.
“I’m just so happy and proud to say I’m part of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ movie,” said the Finnick Odair actor. “Just want to say a big thank you to all the fans who voted. I’m thrilled to know you’re all just as excited as I am for this new chapter.”
