Celebrity news has been buzzing over the last few hours about the revelation that hundreds of fan letters sent to popular country artist Taylor Swift were found in a dumpster in Nashville. omg! from Yahoo reports just hours ago earlier that “Hundreds of letters addressed to the country-pop superstar were found discarded in a Nashville dumpster over the weekend.” The story reported the letters were found in a recycling dumpster behind Granbery Elementary School.
Apparently most of the letters were unopened and were addressed Taylor Swift Entertainment and some included cards and decorated and glittered envelopes.
The letters were explained as follows, and reported in the omg! from Yahoo Story, “Taylor gets thousands of fan letters every day and they are delivered to her management office,” the singer’s rep Paula Erickson told omg! in a statement. “After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled. The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center.”
A story in the New York Daily News, published last night, commented on the trashed fan letter scandal, saying, “Taylor Swift is never, ever, ever writing you back. The country star, 23, landed in some trouble this week when a Nashville woman uncovered hundreds of unopened letters addressed to the artist tossed in a dumpster behind an elementary school.”

@joelcifer tweeted, “Taylor Swift throws your stupid fan letters in the garbage. Because duh. http://bit.ly/W6raFB”
There were hundreds more entries on twitter commenting on the trashed fan letter scandal.
