Hundreds of armed pro-gun demonstrators protest at the Oregon state capital

Hundreds of armed pro-gun protesters rallied outside the state capital in Oregon this past Friday.

As massive shootings have become more common over the last few years, the topic of gun rights and gun laws have made its way to Washington and found its on the front page of every newspaper and magazine in the country. While the majority of the American people support common sense gun laws like universal background checks, many on the far right are still finding ways to express their anger.

According to the Oregonian, 300-400 pro-gun protesters stormed the Oregon capital on Friday to protest an alleged attack on the Second Amendment. Some of the protesters took their weapons inside the capital building, but because Oregon allows people who have concealed handgun licenses to openly carry weapons inside public buildings, the protesters weren't breaking the law.

The protest just highlights the divide between supporters of gun laws and those who oppose them. With President Obama's "State of the Union" address only a day away, we can only assume that the conversation about gun rights will continue.
