The hump day commercial has gotten so popular that it is irritating teachers because kids are imitating the hump day ad every day of the week. The kids are asking each other if they know what day it is and the answer is "hump day," but it's happening daily. According to Fox News on Oct. 5, a school in Connecticut finds this a problem.
This commercial shows a camel walking through an office as he asks does anybody know "what day this is?" He does this a few times until a mundane-appearing co-worker says, "it's hump day." The Geico commercial's final catch phrase for this ad is "Happier than a camel on hump day."
Teachers in a Connecticut middle school are feeling saturated with this hump day comment. There are unconfirmed reports that the school district has banned the dialog from the ad in the schools.
One of the major complaints is that some kids are disregarding what day it is and they’re using this phrase on any given day during the week. A few kids were sent to the principal’s office for using the phrase, according to the students who spoke with the media.
Teachers want to stop the problem before it gets worse. How is this going to get worse? What is wrong with this picture? The school is up in arms over kids imitating a harmless camel commercial and walking around the school doing the hump day commercial dialog.
Just making this an issue with the kids pretty much guarantees this commercial’s dialog will be echoing in the halls a lot longer than it would have if the teachers and faculty just ignored it and let it run its course. By banning the use of the hump day dialog this will just tempt the kids to find more creative ways to keep it going.
With all the problems of guns in the schools, bullying and kids failing the academics, it’s a hump day commercial that’s taking front and center as a major problem and has gained nationwide attention. Wow, just wow!
