One has to LOVE the humility in Alice Munro, 2013 Nobel Prize winner in Literature. Have a watch of this CBC interview with her today! Here is one of the question and Munro's deeply Canadian answer that clearly shows her humility.
Reporter: You were one of the few writers to win this prize for which there doesn't seem to be any controversy. No one is saying, "Why her?" Despite the jury may have many people to choose from, there seem to be a unanimous agreement that you deserve it?
Alice Munro: Well, I'm old. (Laughters.) Thats part of it. When someone has been working for a long time, and very hard as I have, there is a general feeling of goodwill towards this person. And I benefited from that. But I would also like to think they really like my work as well. But there are always ... You know, as I've said before, I've sat on juries, and I know how hard this is. And that there really often isn't one great book. But there are several books, and several reasons for it.
