Humane Society of Charlotte cares for alleged Rutherford County puppy mill dogs

The Humane Society of Charlotte is caring for more than 50 dogs that were rescued from an alleged puppy mill in Rutherford County.

According to information shared by WSOC TV deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department went to a home on Ferry Road in Mooresboro and found more than 50 puppies and dogs that needed to be removed. However, while waiting for a search warrant, which took two days, the dogs were apparently moved.

Sheriff's deputies reported the dogs from the alleged puppy mill were found in Cleveland County, Ellenboro and Forest City.

The dogs that were removed by authorities were reported to include Cocker Spaniels, English bulldogs, French Bull dogs and Shih Tzus. Please view the WSPA site here to view photos of the dogs that were rescued in Rutherford County.

The puppy mill dogs were said to be in need of medical attention before they could be placed with anyone. Those interested in adopting one of these dogs can get more information about the process through the Humane Society of Charlotte.
