Art, new media and education are triangle which can be placed in a different social and cultural context. Since we all depend on how humankind advances or how humankind devolves, the actual research problem would be how the art, new media and education interrelate with human mind and impact the social mind as a mutual interactive process.
First of all we need to frame art, new media and education in open systems of plus and minus inputs, as well as we need to acknowledge that despite of the progress in neurobiology, psychology and social sciences, human mind is still a field of knowledge with paradigms which often turn down and have been rejected or replicate wrong parameters of human knowledge. The crisis in social science especially well observed in archaeology coming from the former countries with communist regimes (e.g. Bulgaria) is due to corruptive social reproduction and inability the society to react on crime, which is often invisible and creates a state of lumpenization of culture and endangering of culture and human society (Todorova syndrome).
The biggest difference between the human mind and society is the human mind can create models at hoc and they look real. For instance, the idea of paradise in the art is represented by endless variants and people with empathy to imaginary can easily interact with these models and replace the grayness or sadness of their everydayness with the imagined paradise that in fact would be an interaction with art which energizes the brain for new positive steps in society. However, this function of mind has negative consequences for instance – replication of violence (including amorality) from art into the social life.
The society as a social mind has rather different nature. The social mind may have similarly to human mind easy access to values, but it is more difficult for the social mind to implement these values to work with positive results. Social mind creates endless opportunities for making people away from negative constructors of society, however, the impact of these opportunities is not effective since the human mind does not want to interact with the social mind for many reasons. Typical is the case with smoking. While the human mind has reached the point of complete rejection of cigarettes as non-healthy construct of society, the social mind is not able to embed this discovery into every human mind which fact makes feel that social mind as a rule is not enough strong to interact completely with the human mind thought as a mind of human civilization. One of the reason is probably that the people do not acknowledge its existence thinking, talking and writing about society only.
Then, one of the leading aspects of art, new media and education is a mean of the social mind to make an advance in its interaction with the human mind, but again often the human mind escapes the area of safe civilization and prefers even to fight with the social mind by creating amazing violent culture instead culture of empathy. Liking war, fight, blood is not an empathic feeling. However, while the social mind makes difference between like and empathize, the human mind may equal both to create new dangers for society.
Having above setting, the human history of culture becomes an arena of contrast interactions between the human mind and the social mind. Studying both in depth may help all of us remain humans and having human culture of advance and not a violent culture of devolution of values.
