Along with adult movies and skinny jeans, human excrement is one of the most sought after “items” by North Korean consumers.
This is based on interviews by recent defectors from the country to South Korea. Kim Young-soo, a professor at Seoul's Sogang University has talked to these runaways to find out that other hot items in the north include instant noodles and TV dramas.
Alright, porn is popular in every country and women love skinny jeans, but what about poop?
Human feces shops are popping up in North Korea to supply household with much needed fertilizer. Since most households can’t produce enough poop independently, a market for the commodity is growing.

Disgusting.....but it might keep the population down if they're all diing of typhoid and other associated diseases.
This is not news. It has been a common practice in many countries all over the world who can't afford fertilizer sold by Dow Chemical or someother outfit. Some people call it "night soil". Find the big news on the police state, not how people are fighting to find excrement. They are just as human as us, and we have done the same in our past.
