Hulk Hogan is back in WWE.

The most famous pro wrestler in history will serve as guest host for WrestleMania XXX, live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, April 6.

WWE has made it official with a statement on their website and already adding Hogan back to the to official roster of superstars.

The international pro wrestling icon will be on hand this week’s Monday Night RAW live from Green Bay, Wisconsin. He also appear on RAW Backstage Pass, which will premiere immediately following RAW, on the brand new WWE Network, which coincidentally goes live at the same time.

This is the first time since December 2007 that Hogan has appeared inside a WWE ring. Since that point he worked for TNA Wrestling for four years. He left TNA when his contracted expired in October 2013. Almost immediately the rumors of Hogan returning to WWE began surfacing.

There is no word yet on the extent or details of Hogan’s new contract with the company. However it is almost certain he will not be in the ring wrestling in any official capacity and his physical contributions within the ring should be kept at an absolute minimum due to Hogan’s declining physical well being.

He will certainly be on television in the lead up to WrestleMania XXX and should be a valuable asset promoting the new Network. In addition he will be invaluable from a media and promotional standpoint and as a company ambassador.

It also seems like a good bet Hogan will be the one to induct The Ultimate Warrior into the WWE Hall of Fame this year as well.

He is the most noteworthy wrestler in the world and a legitimate pop culture icon. A book could be written about Hogan’s in-ring wrestling accomplishments, but at its most bare Hogan is a 12-time World Heavyweight Champion, one-time World Tag Team Champion, a two-time Royal Rumble winner and 2005 inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
