After a seven year wait, Hulk Hogan returns to WWE on Feb. 24, 2014. Rumors abounded that Hulk was coming back to WWE, and CNN, Feb. 22, 2014 update, has confirmed this to be true. He isn’t going to do any wrestling in the ring, but he is going to have an "impact on the action." It has been seven years since his last appearance on WWE.
Hulk Hogan will be on the USA Network, “Raw” and then later that night, you can watch him on “WWE Raw Backstage Pass,” a newly launched streaming network, WWE Network. After that, on April 6, 2014, Hulk hosts “WrestleMania30.”
Hulk Hogan said, "Words cannot express how excited I am to be back in the WWE family. I only have one question for the WWE Universe: whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild as the host of WrestleMania 30?"
Vince McMahon, the CEO and WWE chairman, said, "We are thrilled that Hulk Hogan has returned home to WWE. It's fitting to have him help us celebrate 30 years of WrestleMania and usher in a new era with the launch of WWE Network."
Hulk Hogan debuted in the WWF, which was later renamed WWE, on Nov. 17, 1979. He became the WWE Champion, when defeated The Iron Sheik on January 23, 1984 at Madison Square Garden. It was that year that "Hulkamania" and his "Hulkamaniacs" were born. Hulk went on to win seven more WWE championships. At the 15th anniversary of "Raw,” in 2007, Hulk made his last WWE appearance.
Hulk Hogan, real name, Terry Gene Bollea, is a very recognizable personality. He starred in movies and television shows as the wrestling star, Hulk Hogan. He also had a reality TV show, “Hogan Knows Best” which started on July 10, 2005 and ended on Oct. 21, 2007. The WWE wanted him back, but they had to wait until his contract with TNA expired.
