Over the weekend, Hulk Hogan posted a picture on his Facebook page holding a WWE Championship belt. This will only add the Hogan-WWE rumor mill as Hogan’s contract with TNA expired earlier this month. For more on this story, click here.
As for last night’s 2013 WWE Hell in a Cell pay per view, here are some news and notes from the show.
-Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel was pulled from the show due to injury. Axel was slated to take on Big E Langston. Instead, Langston challenged Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship.
-Speaking of titles, five championships were decided last night. Tag Team Champions Goldust and Cody Rhodes, Divas Champion AJ Lee and United States Champion Dean Ambrose retained their titles, John Cena became the new World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton won the vacated WWE Championship by topping Daniel Bryan.
The pay per view has gotten some mixed reviews, some good, some bad. I didn’t like another dirty finish between Bryan and Orton and Cena winning the World Title in his return match kind of negates the nice reign Del Rio had. The Tag Team Championship bout was excellent and CM Punk vs Ryback and Paul Heyman Hell in a Cell match was good entertainment.
