Hugo Valente, 21, is looking forward to his second season with Campos Racing, when he teams up with Serbian driver Dusan Borkovic to drive their new Chevrolet Cruze cars in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Valente, who debuted at the Shanghai event in 2012, returned in 2013 from the 4th race meeting at Budapest drove Campos’s SEAT León in almost all the remaining rounds with the exception of Japan and Russia.
“I am really happy to have signed with Campos Racing again. It is an experienced team and I am overly excited with the idea of driving the new-specification Chevrolet. In 2013 I learned a lot in the SEAT and now I face the challenge to get used to a faster car and be quick with a small amount of testing before the first race.”
He also stated that he feels “privileged to be the third French driver in WTCC alongside the likes of Sébastien Loeb and Yvan Muller, and acknowledged “It will be tough to beat them in their Citroën cars.
In the meantime, Borkovic, 29, will become the first Serbian to compete in the WTCC, after spending this past year competing in the FIA European Cup.
