Hugh Laurie won’t be looking for another television gig after House has completed its run on FOX. The entertainer who plays the hugely popular Dr. House keeps thousands of fans in touch with one-of-a-kind cases and unique diagnostic ideas, says there will be an end. Sharing the outcome of what will happen after the series House is over, Hugh Laurie told the newspaper The Daily Record on November 24, that he won’t be in front of a camera for a television series.
"I think I have been rather spoiled here,” said Hugh Laurie in the interview. "I can't imagine there will be another one quite like this.”
So where does a popular actor like Hugh Laurie go after such a successful series? Well, he won’t be going too far. The entertainer still wants to be in the movies and he has plenty of scripts to handle the load. Plus, Laurie is eying a career behind the camera and with his expertise as an actor, it might be the perfect next step.
"I think I will probably be as interested by either writing or producing or directing, or some other aspect. I find the whole field of it fascinating,” stated Hugh Laurie.
While the fans of House will be very sad for the series to end, there isn’t a big worry at the moment that Hugh Laurie or the rest of the cast is going anywhere for now as there are plenty of unique illnesses left for Dr. House to solve.
