Hugh Jackman talks about what is next for 'Wolverine'

Fans of Wolverine and Hugh Jackman received some good news about the future of the next film on Tuesday, which will hit local theaters in Scottsdale once the film is released. Coming Soon reported from Cinema Con that the film would continue forward on Tuesday. The project is in need of a new director, and once that is found things will move forward.

Just two weeks ago, Darren Aronofsky backed out of the project as director, so a new director is needed. Darren Aronofsky's latest film release, Black Swan, just hit DVD today, However, that is not the only issue holding up the production of Wolverine. The next film in the X-Men franchise was supposed to be set in Japan. That had been planned already. It was hinted at in a scene at the end of the first Wolverine film.

With the recent quake and tsunami in Japan though, things are up in the air. Hugh Jackman said the following about the production at Cinema Con Tuesday: "It's too early to call on Japan, I'm not sure where they're at, so now we're finding another director, but Fox is very anxious to make the movie and we're moving ahead full steam to find another director."

There is no way a production can be filmed in that location at this time, and this is not the only big Hollywood production facing problems due to the events in the area. James Cameron and his Avatar 2 production might also face problems.

Fans want to see the next Wolverine, but they will have to wait until a new director is found and filming in Japan can proceed. Hugh Jackman actually held the world premiere for the first Wolverine film in the Scottsdale area when it was released in 2009, so fans in this area are especially interested in seeing this next film in the X-Men franchise.
