Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner kicked off the 2013 New Year's Eve celebration by tying the knot with his 26-year-old girlfriend model, Crystal Harris. The 86-year-old original Playboy was reported by MSN on Tuesday, Jan. 1., 2013 to have married Harris in a very intimate wedding ceremony at the Playboy Mansion in L.A.
Hugh Hefner confirmed his marriage news via on Twitter, posting, "Crystal & I married on New Year's Eve in the Mansion with Keith as my Best Man. Love that girl!"
The couple first announced their engagement in December 2010, but Crystal Harris called off the original wedding plans in June 2011 just days before the ceremony.
A year later, Crystal Harris confirmed via Twitter that she had reconciled with Hugh Hefner and that the couple were making plans to walk down the aisle once more in early December when they obtained a marriage license in Beverly Hills and Harris proudly debuted her new engagement ring.
The couple made great effort to keep the New Year's Eve wedding plans a very private and intimate event.
Harris recently stated to Us Weekly, "When the wedding didn't work out the first time, it was because of me. I needed to explore out there and take the time away [from Hef and the Mansion]. The time away really helped make me realize that where I'm meant to be is here with Hef."
Harris, a former "Girls Next Door" star is Hugh Hefner's third wife. Hef was first married to Mildred Williams in 1949 and the couple had two children together, Christie and David ,before divorcing in 1959. Hefner then wed Kimberley Conrad, the mother of his two sons, Marston and Cooper, in 1989, and filed for divorce in 2009 after an 11-year separation.
The Playboy founder's other recent girlfriends includes Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, Bridget Marquardt and Brande Roderick.
Hugh Hefner married Crystal Harris wearing a shawl-collar tux festooned with a pink flower bud, with the bride wearing a strapless pink rosette gown, which she dubbed her "mermaid dress" in a Twitter post.
The pair said "I do" beneath a rose-covered staircase in front of around two dozen guests, according to photos posted on the newly married couple's Twitter accounts.
