What can be better than a Block Party featuring 4 wineries, 3 bands, 2 food vendors, 1 dessert truck and 1 brewery? Well the Grapes and Grains Vasco Research Block Party held at Vasco and Research Drive in Livermore on Saturday, August 16 was such a success. Hundreds showed up to celebrate this block party, sampling the great wines, fine brews and delicious foods sponsored by Longevity Wines, Nottingham Cellars, Occasio Winery, Thomas Coyne Winery and Altamont Brewery.
This is a unique area in Livermore where you will find four wineries and a brewery in easy walking distance, where you can fine approximately 40+ wines any weekend on the tasting menu along with several local brews. The winemakers and brew masters were thrilled with the great turnout. Jeff Cranor, proprietor of Nottingham Cellars states, “This was the first time having an event with our neighbors, it was a great success. We enjoyed the company of many of our loyal fans and had a lot of newcomers. I believe that everyone had a great time.”
The food at the Block Party was fabulous, with a variety of pizzas from Rock N’ Dough Pizza and tasty BBQ from Que Squared BBQ. The Truckin’ Sweet Dessert Truck delivered a wonderful variety of ice creams and gelatos. Each winery had a selection of their fine wines for visitor’s enjoyment. And as you were enjoying the great food and drinks, bands were providing the entertainment at Altamont Brewery, Longevity Wines and Nottingham Cellars. Debra and Phil Long of Longevity Wines said, “The event exceeded our expectations and we hope to do this again. There were lots of people and lots of fun. Everyone really had a great time.”
