Planning a big exhibition? Why not combine it with some fun in the sun at a newly opened exhibit center near the Cancun resort area on the Mexican Caribbean?
Said to be one of the largest exhibition facilities in Latin America, the new 242,000-sq.-ft. Lakam Center can accommodate more than 15,000 guests.
The center's four buildings are a short drive from Cancun International Airport on the Cancun-Playa del Carmen Highway. Developers of the project say it's suitable for large conventions, congresses, musical shows and world-class cultural events.
Lakam Center's high-tech facilities add to Cancun's existing meetings and convention space ranging from Cancun Center to meeting centers at some of the area's top resorts.
The new center was financed by international investment funds of companies such as BP-Rio (a Mexican/U.S. real estate development company), SMG (an administrative company with over 30 years of experience in the administration of public buildings, stadiums and exhibition centers in the U.S., Latin America and Europe), Gourmet Events (a top catering and events company in Cancun and the adjacent Riviera Maya), and J&S Audio Visual (which provides audio-visual services to companies across North America).
