Huge, decisive win for Sioux Falls

The voters of Sioux Falls came out in huge numbers on Tuesday to cast their votes in favor of a new Events Center for our city.  The final voter turnout tally was 41.22%.  That is astounding for any special election in which there was only one issue involved and no candidates to vote for on the ballot.  My salute goes out to all the voters of Sioux Falls that participated by exercising their right to be heard.

After weeks of very hard work by the Build It Now campaign staff, volunteers and the support of many local businesses, Sioux Falls voters made it known that they wanted to invest in the future growth and enjoyment of our great city.  The campaign spent weeks knocking on doors, making phone calls and reaching out to voters through exceptional advertising.  Build It Now and the people of Sioux Falls deserved a big win and they got it on Tuesday.  The final vote count came to 58.08% Yes and 41.92% No.

The voters of Sioux Falls have just participated in creating 1,000 new construction jobs over the next 2 years and invested in securing future growth and new opportunites for our residents and local businesses for decades to come.
