Huawei revealed the Ascend Mate at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show.
"Featuring a 6.1-inch HD IPS+ LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a screen-to-body ratio of 73%, the HUAWEI Ascend Mate is perfect for both business and entertainment purposes," Huawei said in a press release.
The Ascend Mate's 6.1-inch display is 0.6 inches larger than that of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Its battery is also the beefiest available currently at 4,050mAh.
Like the Huawei Ascend D2, the Ascend Mate is an Android 4.1 handset. Unlike its smaller sibling, the Ascend Mate's rear camera is 8 megapixels, a full five megapixels lower.
The Ascend Mate's display is also not as sharp as the Ascend D2's, which manages 443 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Ascend Mate's lower resolution and larger battery contribute to its promised talk time of 13 hours.
The Ascend Mate is expected to launch sometime in the first quarter of 2013.
