HTC Thunderbolt a 4G beast coming to Verizon!

Is it the HTC Mecha or the Incredible HD? It’s actually both. The Incredible HD which we have been hearing about for some time now was actually being built as the HTC Mecha but when it launches at CES (Consumer Electronics Show – Jan 6-9 2011) it will be unveiled as the Thunderbolt.

HTC has been advertising all over the net on different websites and blogs (see ad in slide show) when you click on the ad it takes you to this HTC website. Here is a brief rumored overview (update: these were confirmed) – obviously this will be a LTE device, a 4.3-inch touch screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8MP camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD Video capture, 1.3 MP front facing camera, DLNA connectivity, Tethering capabilities, HTC Sense 2.0 support with new features including Fast Boot, FM Radio and 3-way 32 GB expansion slots (microSD, microSDHC, Trans Flash).

OS: Android 2.2 (Froyo)
CPU: 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650A
Display Type: Super LCD (TFT) display
Display Size: 4.3” WVGA display
Resolution: 480 x 800
Video out: 1280x720 (720p)
RAM: 768 MB
Bluetooth: 2.1 with EDR
WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n
Internal Memory: 8 GB
Mobile HotSpot: share 4G with up to 8 devices
Surround sound: Dolby and SRS

Verizon will also be showcasing (see here) about half a dozen phones from HTC, Motorola, Samsung, LG and possibly Sony. This should be good. Droid-Life has provided some great pictures; please see the slide show for their photos..
