HTC One has proved to be the best and most popular phone from the company as yet and it is due to this reason that HTC has been releasing various variants of this phone. Other than this strategy, the company is also about to launch a “phablet” with the same name, the HTC One Max.

Even though we’ve heard nothing official at IFA Tech last month, rumors says that the Taiwanesse company is gearing up to launch a fresh version of HTC One soon. During the last few months, HTC One has successfully rivaled some of the finest mobile devices in the market and continues to be among the customers’ favorite. So naturally, any new version or the phone would garner much attention and would most probably continue to build on the success of its predecessor.

The Rumors

As per the detailed rumors, HTC might launch the improved version of HTC One by the end of this year. After that, another version, the HTC One 2 is scheduled for the spring 2014 launch. This later version has been codenamed M8. This is also in line with the naming scheme since the previous version of the phone was codenamed M7. Despite latest words on this topic, most probably we wouldn’t see the HTC One refresh this year as no speculations have come out regarding the first carriers offering the phone. The HTC One flagship is now available on over a half dozen network providers in the US and most probably HTC company will be also promoting the HTC One refresh version with a large number of carriers. Even if your current carrier would not be among the first ones supporting the successor of HTC ONE, this is not a big problem anymore, as you will have the possibility to unlock the phone as soon as you buy it and use it with any compatible GSM network, even with your favorite one. There are a lot of professional unlocking services offering online HTC One unlocking services and certainly this would also be the case for HTC One refresh.

A lot of people were expecting a successor to HTC One because of the huge success that it saw, but still things are rather unclear. These rumors about the upcoming version of the phone are also hardly anything more than speculations in the absence of any official word. According to the report, the company would make several changes in the software as well as hardware of the phone.

The technical specs of such a refreshed device are expected to be significantly improved compared to the original version. For instance, this one might be equipped with octa-core processor working on conjunction with 3GB of RAM memory. This would give the phone sufficient power to execute advanced operating for the developers and gamers. Rumor also has it that MediaTek would manufacture this octa-core processor for the phone. The processor would be built on the ARM Cortex-A7 design and it would use the same architecture that is already found on HTC One. So there certainly is a significant improvement on the hardware front, with better processor and enhanced RAM, thus making the phone more responsive and equipped with better speed. This is definitely good news for developers and people who deal with graphics, since speed is the most important factor for them when it comes to smartphone selection.

More Rammage

3GB of RAM memory, if it actually comes with the phone, would be a significant improvement since no HTC phone to the date has had this much RAM. Among the software features, we are listening about something called “Clear Audio” to make the voice quality of the calls better. With HTC One Refresh, the company would also update and improve its Gorilla Glass for the display of the phone. This glass would be an improvement over its predecessor found on HTC One, being lighter and thinner in structure. HTC certainly seems serious in competing with other tech giants such as LG, Samsung, Sony and their high end devices. The company has already established its HTC One among the very best phones in the market and now intends on building upon its repute.

News about a refreshed version of HTC One, however, remains in the realm of rumors and there is hardly anything that can be verified. These details were revealed in a few screenshots of the phone that recently made their way to the internet. However, whatever comes from the leaked screenshots must be taken with a pinch of salt since things have been proven wrong in the past. There is no official world from the company in this regard which is quite expected. We are also expecting HTC’s first “phablet” to be launched in the next few months so the main focus of the company for the time being happens to be the HTC One Max.

As for the updated version of HTC One, that certainly would turn out to be a reality and it is only a matter of time. The only way to know about it, is to wait for some official confirmation in this regard, which is expected to follow by the end of this year.
