The forthcoming successor to the fantastic HTC One (my personal favorite phone of 2013), is set to be announced by HTC on March 25. However, leaks have been popping up all over the place, as images of device codenamed M8, are easy to find. However, one YouTube user, who made the mistake of making a amateur video review of an alleged developer version of the M8 found its way online, which you can see below.
The new HTC One (M8), sports a design that is similar to the original HTC One, but seems to have a darker aluminum polish, and remains quite sexy.
The video shows the dual rear cameras that have been rumored for some time now and though the user is rather confused as to what the second camera does, it does fall in line with images of M8 cases that have been found online that also have an opening for the second camera. In the video, we also get to see that the M8 allows for a dual-shot mode that lets the user capture video and an image at the same time, as well as sporting a double flash.
There’s no mention of what the camera’s megapixel count will be for either the rear or front cameras, but we do get a glimpse of the latest version of HTC Sense. Dual speakers will apparently be back, and the Home, Menu and Back buttons look to be on the screen itself. The phone is also visibly larger than the One, and appears to be a full 5 inches, as opposed to 4.7 inches (of the HTC One).
We’re not sure how old this M8 developer phone is, so it’s very possible that HTC could tweak various things about the phone before it’s official revelation.
