HTC Facebook phones announced, will be exclusive to AT&T (Photos)

We’re arriving to this party a little late, San Francisco, but that’s what happens when the Mobile World Congress takes place an ocean away and doesn’t even slow down for Valentine’s Day.

Sheesh.

Anyway, remember those photos that were purportedly the HTC-made Facebook phones? Well, they went official late last night/early this morning and they are going to be called the HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa.

I don’t like the names either.

They will both be arriving with a dedicated Facebook button that is location aware and will light up whenever there is a chance to share something with your Facebook friends. Personally, I find this to be obnoxious but I am sure there are plenty of you in San Francisco chomping at the bit to give it a go.

Neither of these bad boys are hardware beasts though so if you’re looking for that, you’re going to want to look elsewhere.

They will however rock Android 2.4 with the new HTC Sense.

The Salsa will sport a 3.4-inch 480 x 320 display with a 600MHz processor from Qualcomm. It’ll also have 512MB of RAM and ROM, a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, a front-facing VGA camera. The ChaCha will have the same specs except it will employ a 2.6-inch screen with 480 x 320 resolution.

HTC is expected to unleash these upon the world sometime in Q2 and AT&T has confirmed that phones like these, they may not be the exact models, will be hitting its network.

Any Facebook fanatics out there excited to get a dedicated Facebook button on a phone?
