Babysitting for many teenagers is practically a rite of passage. Holy Rosary Healthcare wants to make sure teens give the best possible care and have the right skills to take care of younger siblings and neighborhood children. Additionally, the class will give the youngster basic business skills to run a babysitting business.
During the winter break from school, teens can take a two day class in Miles City. Holy Rosary will offer a Safe Sitter® course for young teens 11 and up on December 27th & 28th at Miles Community College. Registration deadline is December 23rd, 2011.
Over 500,000 adolescent babysitters have graduated from the medically-accurate program which instills students with confidence as they learn how, why and where injuries can happen so they can be prevented. The cost of the course is $30. Call 406-233-2604 to register your son or daughter or your child’s babysitter. HRH will be accepting 12 students in the class so interested parties are encouraged to enroll now as the class fills quickly.
The up-to-date curriculum provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act in an emergency. Babysitters also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior and how to run their own babysitting business.
Students will also learn basic first aid as well as how to perform infant and child choking rescue. They even learn CPR. To graduate from the Safe Sitter® course and receive a completion card, students must pass a rigorous practical and written test that indicates their mastery of key concepts and life and safety skills.
