HPD seeks three coordinators

New York City's Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is seeking to hire three Community Coordinator's to assist families who were temporary displaced during Hurricane Sandy. This program offers two years of rent assistance and case management to families who can no longer live in their homes due to damage caused by the storm. This is a grant funded position and the anticipated end date is June 30, 2015.

The salary for this temporary position is $45,615.00 to $70,810.00 annually. The work location is 100 Gold Street, 4th Floor, New York 10038, in the DPM A/C Unit. The job ID number is 155585. This job will be posted until July 29, 2014. Key responsibilities will be intake and operations. Some of the responsibilities will include, but not limited to are; housing assistance, communication with landlords, manage client caseload and develop partnerships with community organizations.

Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree and two years work experience in community work or community centered activities or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years work experience in community work or community centered activities. Supervisors must be professional, organizational and meticulous to details.

Preferred skills are; minimum three years experience in NYC assisted living plans, must possess superior writing and oral communication skills, three years experience in office management and multi-lingual preferred.
